Realize your dreams in 4 steps

“If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it.” Jesse Jackson

Among all the books and articles that I read, the 4 following steps sum up all the conditions to realize your dreams :

1. Dream and believe in your dreams

Dare to dream and make a list, in a chronological order, of what you have always wanted to do or have regardless of all the resources (material, financial, etc.) you have: get a degree, buy a new car, a beautiful house, a new job, travel, etc. Do not let people or your current conditions limit your imagination but just write down all your wishes.

At this stage, it is important that the desire that you feel for your dreams is really strong and that you firmly believe in them. Visualize yourself being happy with all the benefits that your dreams will bring to you because this will be a motivation to pursue them. Visualize yourself being happy in front of your new house, your new car, your new job, how healthy and confident you will be after you lose 30 lbs, etc.

2. Get rid of limiting beliefs and negative thoughts

If you think that your dreams seem to be impossible to fulfill and make you feel that you do not have enough tools and resources to realize them, remember that you have the power to achieve them, as the French writer Richard Bach said : “ You’re never given a dream without also being given the power to make it true.”

The following video always reminds me that we can absolutely live a fabulous existence and we can live the life of our dreams although it seems impossible to achieve them.

3. Divide your large goals into smaller goals in order to have actionable to-dos

Write your first dream to be realized (main goal G1) on top of the list and write below all the tasks (sub goals SG 1 to SG N) that you have to do.

Dot not stop listing all the sub goals until you find all the concrete achievable to-dos even if having sub-sub-sub-goals is necessary. You will find that all difficulties, obstacles and the fear of the unknown will progressively fade away if you clearly set the sub goals and the achievable tasks.

Then set a deadline to your goal if not it will stay a wish : live in your new house in a year, practise  sport to lose 30 lbs in 3 weeks, etc.. The deadline will motivate you and will force you to achieve your goals to realize your dreams.

4. Just do it

Once the goal is set and the sub-goals are well defined, take action for it will only realize your dreams.

Instead of lingering on possible difficulties and fear, stay focused on your goal and the action to achieve and make the best of yourself at every moment until you realize your dreams.

It always seems impossible until it's done
